Gas

• The primary utility company that provides this service is Atmos Energy. They were formally known as Greeley Gas. The customer service number for the areas is 1-888-442-1313. They have a pretty useful webpage at AtmosEnergy.com.

Electric

• The electric company is Aquila (formerly Westplains Energy). Aquila can be contacted at 1-800-303-0752. They can also be accessed online at Aquila.com. This will provide some customer service information for homeowners.

Trash Disposal

Trash disposal in this area is privately run businesses. The three primary trash disposal companies are:

• Fremont Disposal, 719-269-7039

Domestic Water

In Canon City there are two primary water service providers. The City of Canon City provides water to most of the city area with the exception of some parts of the northern part of the city. Canon City's water is derived from the Arkansas River and treated just west of the city near the Pueblo Community College.

The Park Center Water District provides artesian well water for portions of the area on the north side of Canon City. They can be contacted at 719-275-2055.

Irrigation Water

There is a lot of irrigation ditches in Canon City. The water is used for a variety of purposes ranging from watering small fields (pony pastures) to lawns. Each ditch company has their own sets of rules and it would be impossible to keep up with contacts and specifics. There are eight primary ditches in Canon City area:

The above ditches are located in the Canon City area. The Beaven Park Irrigation ditch is located in Penrose. The Fremont, Union, and Rainbow Park Ditches are located in the Florence area.
